Consulting

Design leadership & strategic UX consulting.

Some organisations need a senior design leader for a defined period. Others need the right person embedded for the long haul. Either way, the brief is usually the same - bring strategic design thinking to bear on a problem that matters, and leave things in better shape than you found them.

What I bring

I work with founders, product leads, and heads of product who need senior design capability without the overhead of a full-time hire. I can operate as a fractional head of design, a strategic partner on a defined project, or somewhere in between. Whatever the engagement model, the quality of thinking is the same.

  • Experience strategy and vision

I define where the experience needs to go and make the case for getting there. North-star visioning, roadmap input, and the kind of clear strategic direction that gives design, product, and engineering something to align around.

  • End-to-end journey design

From complex multi-product ecosystems to greenfield ventures, I've designed and delivered across the full customer journey — digital sales, self-service, onboarding, retention. I know how the pieces connect and where the gaps tend to hide.

  • Design practice building

If you don't have a design function yet — or have one that isn't working — I can build it. Hiring, ways of working, standards, and the cultural foundations that make design sustainable at scale.

  • Stakeholder alignment

Design decisions don't fail in the studio. They fail in the boardroom, the sprint planning meeting, the conversation with the CFO. I know how to make the case, build the coalition, and keep it moving.

How we can work together

Fractional head of design

Ongoing embedded engagement. I operate as your senior design leader — attending the right meetings, shaping the right decisions, developing your team — without the full-time cost. Typically month-to-month with a minimum commitment.

Project-based

A defined scope, a clear outcome. Discovery, strategy, experience design, or a combination. Works well when there's a specific problem to solve or a product moment that needs senior attention.

Let's talk

If you have a brief, bring it. If you're still working out what you need, that's fine too — a conversation is usually the right place to start.
